Category: Press Releases Date: Jan 3 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE UFWDA Presents Effective Advocacy for the OHV Enthusiast San Diego, CA (Jan 3, 2006): The United Four Wheel Drive Associations (UFWDA) will be presenting a seminar on Effective Advocacy for the OHV Enthusiast in Warwick, Rhode Island on March 18, 2006. The Northeast Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs (NEA4WDC) is hosting the seminar. The seminar topics will focus on Public Speaking, Lobbying Basics, and Effective Advocacy. Additional information on hints to promote a more positive public image will be presented to attendees. John Stewart, Director of Environmental Affairs for the UFWDA will be conducting the seminar. Stewart, a nationally noted access advocate, stated, "I believe and advocate that the best policies and management decisions come through full public disclosure and maximum public involvement." Under this philosophy, the access advocacy seminar series was developed as a subset of the United Land Use Conference. UFWDA is a strong advocate for responsible recreation and access to public lands. Stewart stated, "I believe that the strength of individual involvement is an important element to support an active access advocacy program. Each recreationist must be informed and educated on the issues affecting their recreation opportunities. The success of access depends on the commitment of the whole."
