Category: General News Date: Mar 30 2009 Final Report Cape Hatteras National Seashore Cape Hatteras, NC -- March 30, 2009 -- The work by UFWDA at Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area, a unit within the National Park Service system, was undertaken because of its national significance to Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) management by the NPS around the United States. There are currently 5 other units pending ORV management that will be influenced by the outcome of the work at Cape Hatteras. Those units include Cape Lookout National Seashore (NC), Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve (AK), Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (UT), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (MI), and Assateague Island National Seashore (MD and VA). This document is the final report of UFWDA and its access partners, listed on page 1 of the document, in regards to more than a year of negotiated rulemaking where stakeholders attempted to reach consensus on ORV management at Cape Hatteras. The full report is posted in the General UFWDA topics section of the forum.
