Eastern Region Recreation Resource Advisory Committee (RRAC)
The Eastern Region Recreation Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) is a citizen's advisory committee that makes recommendations on creating new or changing existing recreation fees managed by the Forest Service in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The Eastern Region Recreation RAC is authorized under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act, which was signed into law in December, 2004. More information, including the Recreation RAC's charter and how to apply to a Recreation RAC in the future, can be found on the National Recreation RAC web page.

Advice and recommendations from the Eastern Region Recreation RAC is combined with other public notification and communication efforts to help the Forest Service make sound decisions regarding recreation fees.

Recreation RAC Membership
Forest Service established Recreation RACs, consist of 11 members who represent the following interests as indicated in REA. The Eastern Region Recreation RAC members are:

Category 1 - Five people who represent recreation users and that include, as appropriate, winter motorized recreation, winter non-motorized recreation, summer motorized recreation, summer non-motorized recreation, Hunting and Fishing.

Nicholas Manjerovic, New York Winter Non-Motorized Recreation
Randy Harden, Wisconsin Summer Motorized Recreation
Ronald Craig, Indiana Summer Non-Motorized Recreation
John Schnorr, Wisconsin Hunting and Fishing

Category 2 - Three people who represent, as appropriate, motorized outfitters and guides, non-motorized outfitters and guides, local environmental groups.
No Applicants Motorized Outfitter/Guide
Craig Schowalter, Wisconsin Non-Motorized Outfitter/Guide
Susan Arnold, New Hampshire
Dana Johnson, Wisconsin Local Environmental

Category 3 - Three people who are, state tourism official representing the state, a representative of affected Indian Tribes, a representative of affected local government interests.

Ted Sutton, New Hampshire Local Government


Recreation RAC Meetings
The Eastern Region Recreation RAC is a Federal Advisory Committee. All meetings are open to the public.

Meeting information, including meeting announcements, agendas, minutes, public comment opportunities, project proposals and recommendations, will be made available as soon as the documents are produced. Check this site before and after each meeting to stay updated on the work of the Eastern Region Recreation RAC or to provide comments.
