National Public Lands Day 2007: Saturday September 29
National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands American's enjoy. In 2006, nearly 100,000 volunteers across the country worked on our public lands. We're hoping 2007 will be the biggest event yet! Join U4WDA for the 14th annual National Public Lands Day!
U4WDA organized all 18 member clubs and 250 volunteers to participate in NPLD projects at 11 different sites across the state in 2006. We're looking to improve on those numbers for 2007, and we need your help! Volunteers at all U4WDA sponsored NPLD events will receive a free special edition t-shirt and a public land day pass.
To get involved, join one of the projects already planned (see list at http://www.u4wda.org/npld.aspx
), or get a group of friends together and organize your own project (with local land managers). For help organizing a project or for more information about NPLD, please contact Steve Jackson at 801-376-3332. Also, there is a list of projects across Utah at www.publiclandsday.org
