I'll keep an eye on this issue and post up any news I hear or if I attend a meeting.  This "park" is primarily a battlefield/plantation historical area with no OHV access.

I've "battled" on that patch of rocky ground.
It was my Uncle's favorite re-enactment because it still takes place on the actual "spot" and looks pretty much the same as it did during the war - right down to the house.

There was a meeting on Dec. 13th in the town of Strasburg, VA at 12 noon.  I was unable to make this meeting due to my work schedule.  I have an email into the main POC Chris Stubbs at the NPS about the GMP and how it's being developed.  Since this site had no access for 4WD vehicles before, I highly doubt any access would come up in the new management plan.  However, I have asked Chris if he could allow me to speak to him about how these plans are developed, what information is researched and how an organization like United can help contribute to this type of park and the GMP that they're developing.

"Indeed we are in the middle of a general management planning process forCedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park.  Since you are PEPCsavvy, you can go to that site and download our planning newsletter.  It'sa bit old, but it will give you a basic idea of the four alternatives thatwill be addressed in the plan.  You are correct: there will not be4-wheel-drive access at this park.  Typically, units of the national parksystem do not allow 4x4/ATV unless specifically provided for inlegislation.  You probably already know that there are 4x4 opportunities inthe George Washington National Forest? If you would like to be kept informed about the progress of our planningprocess, please send me your mailing address and I will add you to ourdatabase."

This is a segment of an email I received back from Chris Stubbs, Community Planner at the Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park.  I provided him my home address and that will allow me to receive up to date information on scheduled meetings and such.  I'll continue to check this out and get back to you all.
