Gas mileage on a 2000 4WD Blazer
« on: September 26, 2007, 08:14:11 pm »
I am looking tyo buy a 2000 Blazer with a V6 automatic transmision:  anybody know what kind of city/highway gas mileage I can expect?  Also: if I get one with a manual transmision: will the gas mileage be better or worse?  I prefer manual transmission, but I can't find any.

Thanks.

My Wife drives a 97 with a SCPI (sequential central port injection) 4.3 v6 and 4L60E auto trans. The one you are looking at should be the same. She gets 24 mpg average (combining city and highway ) I hope this helps.

Like a lot of vehicles, it will depend on your driving style and terrain. I am the site admin at www.blazerowners.com and Rob's wife seems to be getting a slight bit more mpg than most of what I'm seeing/hearing. 18-20 mpg is more in line with what I'm hearing there.
What are you supposed to do when you see an "endangered" animal eating an "endangered" plant?

Yeah, in 4 low, I'm lucky to get about 6-8 mpg but is highly dependent on whether the uphill approach is longer or the downhill is.  ;D
