And as I passed the House of Representatives channel, I noticed they were discussing a Utah Wilderness Bill.
So I watched for a little while and BOY was I impressed with the attitudes of Utah Representative Rob Bishop who is not anti ecology, but has grown anti-wilderness. He stated that his primary reason was because current proposals usually have little or nothing to do with preserving the land, but some "other" agenda.
He doesn't believe areas with powerlines, roads, or any other 'tramplings of man' should be considerable for further designation as wilderness.
Sounds like he's one of those RARE politicians who's actually a "keeper" for the people of Utah!
Since he also sits on the Committee On Natural Resources that votes on Wilderness Bills, I thought I'd pass along the info.
