Overall, I thought a good article.
Showed both sides, and a quote from Mr. Morrison, President of Southwestern Virginia Four Wheelers.

education, and publication of these offences should help stop the problems.

Sounds like a Forest that needs to better manage* its recreation.

* Manage - transitive and intransitive verb to be in charge of something such as a store, department, or project and be responsible for its smooth running and for any personnel employed

Notice "eliminated" and/or "closure"are NOT part of the definition.
Perhaps the Forest should dedicate a couple of "holes" for that activity if there's that much interest in seeing it take place on NFS land?

The "closure" statement was taken out of context.  What was really meant was close the roads that are already seasonally closed on a consistent set of dates instead of various dates that someone has to have a scorecard to know what is open.  There are a couple of roads that may be added to the list, but they really don't affect us.

Todd,

Have you made any contact with the GWNF since the press release?

Gregg

I will have to ask Carla or Marti on this, as it might have been one of them.
I can ask Geraldine, but she is no longer with UFWDA.
Lets move this over to email please.
landuse@ufwda.org

I will look into it though.

The subject made the editorial page.

If you want to comment about the article...

http://blogs.roanoke.com/rtblogs/roundtable/2009/05/15/discuss-fridays-editorials-97/  Be nice, don't be an idiot and don't be negative.  We have an opportunity to show the public that we aren't just a bunch of illiterate idiots.
