As part of WOHVA's overall support of motorized recreation in the Badger State and specifically our support for a state Motorized Recreation Area (MRA), WOHVA wants to continue to educate and whenever possible certify capable and well trained volunteers. As we move closer to realizing our goal of an MRA, WOHVA wants to take the next step in offering the aforementioned training.
WOHVA has hosted numerous NOHVCC Sustainable Trail Workshops, a Tread Lightly! Master Tread Trainer Workshop, CPR certification classes, a Wilderness First Aid Workshop and several UFWDA Volunteer Trail Patrol Workshops (to name just a few). These workshops have improved skill levels on literally hundreds of motorized recreationists. When the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) begins to develop trails at the Motorized Recreation Area (MRA) they will be in need of volunteers who can safely operate chain saws. The DNR loves certified and accredited chain saw operators, they frown upon your basic self-taught backyard woodsman.
With that said, WOHVA will be hosting a FISTA Chain Saw Safety Training Workshop on Friday, April 8th, 2011 in conjunction with our 7th Annual OHV Enthusiasts Workshops. The Workshops will be held at the Mole Lake Lodge & Conference Center in Mole Lake, Wisconsin.
Registrations for WOHVA's - FISTA Chain Saw Safety Training Workshop are now being accepted.
The Registration Form for this Workshop and additional information about this Workshop is available on the WOHVA website at http://cs.wohva.com/forums/t/1563.aspx
