Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials recently announced a new round of funding for two trails grant programs. The application deadline is July 1 for grants from both the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and the Off-Highway Vehicle Program (OHV). Eligible projects for RTP include: development of urban trail linkages near homes and work places; construction and maintenance of trails; development of trailside and trailhead facilities; ethics education and interpretive programs; and, weed control along trails and trailhead areas.

OHV eligible projects include, but are not limited to: maintenance of existing OHV trails; signing; ethics education; noxious weed control adjacent to OHV trails; enforcement and route mapping.
Information on applying for Recreational Trails Program grants and OHV grants is available on the FWP Web site at fwp.mt.gov on the Recreation page under Grants.

Applicants may also attend a grant-writing training session at one of the following dates and locations.

Kalispell - Tuesday, March 29, 7-9 PM, FWP Headquarters, 490 North Meridian Rd.
