Dear UFWDA,
The 4xKIDS JAM is a
Jeep ONLY trail ride and fund raiser for campers at Camp Riley, Bradford Woods, IN - part of the Riley Children's Foundation. Fat Boys Jeepers are hosting this event and is the largest member of the Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association. Camp Riley specialize in children with mobility disabilities. The Fat Boys Jeepers have taken the Camp Riley campers for Jeeps rides during camp over the last 10 years. We are looking to enlist the help of the Jeep off road community to build a Challenge Course at Camp Riley. The Challenge Course will be available to all camps for the next 30 years...positively affecting the lives of thousands of children.
The Fat Boys Jeepers invites you and your member Jeep owners to 4xKIDS JAM on May 10-12, 2012. The event will be held at the Ranch in French Lick, IN - a Jeep Jamboree USA site. This site is on private property and is only open to vehicle traffic 3 times per year. Included in the event fee is two days of guided trails (class 3-7), special events area, T-shirt, stickers, and other memorabilia, 4 meals and arrival reception, and the opportunity to meet our guest of honors - the Camp Rileycampers.
Several vendors have stepped up in support of this event - Manufacturers such as Warn, Bushwacker, Hi-Lift Jack and distributors like Meyer Distributing, and Baseline 4x4 have donated hundreds of dollars of merchandise for door prizes. There will also be a Jeep memorabilia auction on Friday evening. All proceeds go toward building the Challenge Course at Camp Riley.
The Ranch is a Bed & Breakfast and makes for a very comfortable base camp. There are rental cabins and campsites (tent) onsite , and several motels within 10 minutes. Organized Jeep treks have been running the trails for over 20 years. This time of year the hills are in bloom with spring foliage.....it's really a great time to be out wheeling. The trails are rated from a class 3 to 7 - depending on the moisture content of the soil. There are trails with rock ledges, creek beds, and lots of off camber stuff....at the same time, there are trails for the less adventurous Jeep owners. All Trail Guides are experienced and pull from the Jeep Jamboree crews -having a good knowledge of the terrain and the local "moon shiners & gangsters" history. And in the evenings, there is the casino in French Lick.
The real winners for this weekend are the kids at Camp Riley. The enthusiasm shown by the campers for Jeeps is amazing. These kids have mobility disabilities - but at Camp Riley, they scuba dive, water ski, ride zip lines, and ride in Jeeps....a really unique opportunity for them and for us. I have never met an adult that wasn't touched by these children. The Challenge Course will add some additional tasks to help build confidence and stability.....including tilting platforms, moving walkways, some low rope activities .... And it will be used by hundreds of campers for the next 30 years.....
So what we are offering is a great weekend of wheeling while positively affecting the lives of hundreds of children....Please join us. 4xKIDS JAM fee schedule is just $250 for the Driver and his Jeep, Passengers are $165 each - A reservation form is attached to this email, and there is additional information and videos on the event website
