This process is needed to respond to changing policies, land use conditions, and emerging issues and began in 2005 with public scoping. The public is invited to provide comments during this 90-day period.
The planning area consists of about 8.9 million acres of land within the three counties and includes about 2.8 million acres of public surface lands and 3.9 million acres of Federal subsurface minerals managed by the Las Cruces District Office. For the full notice.... http://www.blm.gov/nm/st/en/fo/Las_Cruces_District_Office/tricounty_rmp.print.html
