WOHVA Update November ‘13
Every month WOHVA provides our members and other motorized trail recreation advocates with this short synopsis of WOHVA’s efforts to assure that environmentally responsible OHV recreational opportunities are expanded here the Badger State.
Joining business professionals from Forest County, WOHVA attended the Regular Monthly Membership Meeting of the Forest County Chamber of Commerce in Crandon, Wisconsin.
Last month the Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park (WORVPI) hosted two meetings to introduce their 10,000 acre off-road park project to stakeholder groups from Forest County and the State of Wisconsin.  WOHVA participated in these meetings and remains at the forefront in promoting this recreational venue which will be of huge economic benefit to northern Wisconsin and provide the Badger State with a long awaited and much needed motorized trail recreation venue.
WOHVA participated in the regularly scheduled Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park, Inc. (WORVPI) Monthly Directors Meeting in Crandon, Wisconsin.  Meeting agenda and other important updates can be found on the WORVPI Web Site.
WOHVA hosted our Fall Trails Information Meeting in Fredonia, Wisconsin.  This FREE Trail Information Meeting is held twice annually (spring & fall).  Those in attendance became informed as to the state of motorized trails and WOHVA projects here in the Badger State.  Participants also had the opportunity to learn what WOHVA has planned for next year (and the future).
The Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park (WORVPI) recently assembled a Project Management Team to spearhead Phase II of their Park Project.  WOHVA is proud to have a key role on the Team and attended two Phase II Project Management Team meetings last month.
WOHVA participated in the W4WDA Fall Meeting in La Crosse.  Information that WOHVA presented to the group included as update on the Forest County MRA Project (this project is on the forefront of WOHVA’s tasks) and also our recently introduced legislation to establish a 4WD Sticker Program here in the Badger State.  AB369 was drafted by WOHVA over the past couple of years.  We’re excited that with the passage of this law, 4WD enthusiasts will finally be recognized by the State of Wisconsin as a recreational user group and expand trail riding opportunities for 4WD’s.
WOHVA attended the Lake States Resource Alliance (LSRA) Quarterly Directors  Meeting at Trees for Tomorrow in Eagle River, Wisconsin.  Information (including the minutes) on this and all LSRA meetings can be found on the LSRA web site at http://www.lakestatesresource.org
Volunteers from WOHVA provided and served lunch to hundreds of participants at the Kettle Moraine Sport Riders Annual Field & Forest Dual Sport Ride.  This event is held in and around the West Bend area.  Field & Forest attracts single-track enthusiasts from across the Badger State to explore on and off-road riding adventures.

“Remember, join and advocate (that’s) the two most important things that you can do!” - Del Albright  (April ’09, WOHVA’s 5th Annual Wisconsin OHV Enthusiast Workshops)
