WOHVA Update October ‘13
Every month WOHVA provides our members and other motorized trail recreation advocates with this short synopsis of WOHVA’s efforts to assure that environmentally responsible OHV recreational opportunities are expanded here the Badger State.
Joining business professionals from Forest County, WOHVA attended the Regular Monthly Membership Meeting of the Forest County Chamber of Commerce in Crandon, Wisconsin
Last month the Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park (WORVPI) hosted six meetings to introduce their 10,000 acre off-road park project to stakeholder groups from Forest County and the State of Wisconsin.  WOHVA participated in these meetings and remains at the forefront in promoting this recreational venue which will be of huge economic benefit to northern Wisconsin and provide the Badger State with a long awaited and much needed motorized trail recreation venue.
WOHVA participated in the regularly scheduled Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park, Inc. (WORVPI) Monthly Directors Meeting in Crandon, Wisconsin.  Meeting agenda and other important updates can be found on the WORVPI Web Site.
Damage, Inc. invited WOHVA to their monthly membership meeting.  WOHVA was pleased to attend and share updates on the current state of all things off-road with Damage members in attendance.
An informational meeting was held at the Wisconsin State Capitol at which Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park, Inc. (WORVPI) presented their Park Project to the Department of Administration, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Tourism, Legislators from Northern Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.  WOHVA was pleased to accompany WORVPI to the meeting and assist in presenting the project to the group assembled.
Legislation establishing a State 4WD Sticker Program here in the Badger State (AB369) was presented at a Public Hearing before the Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Natural Resources and Sporting Heritage at the State Capitol.  WOHVA and representatives from numerous WOHVA Supporting Groups participated in the Hearing.  A BIG WOHVA THANK YOU goes out to Jim Goeldner, Bryan Much, John Schnorr, Joe Van der Linden and Leann Van der Linden for attending this important hearing and showing solidarity for motorized trail recreation here in the Badger State.
The Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park (WORVPI) hosted a meeting with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to further develop Phase Two of WORVPI’s Park Project.  Phase Two of the Park Project includes securing commitments to acquire the park site.
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) recently appointed two additional WOHVA Members Associate NOHVCC State Partners.  Congratulations and thanks go out to Bryan Much and John Schnorr.
Off-Road enthusiasts from across the Badger State attended WOHVA’s Fall Pipeline Trail Day on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.  The day included gathering at the Lakewood/Laona Ranger District, Lakewood Offices, several hours of trail clean-up and a trail lunch provided by WOHVA.  Volunteer trail activities like this go a long way towards keeping your trails open.  Thanks to all these dedicated volunteers!
