URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT
Bills to Severely Limit 4x4 Truck Access Again Introduced in Minnesota
Identical legislation (H.F. 1127 and S.F. 1094) that would limit modified 4x4 trucks to minimally maintained roads and to the area specifically designated for their use has been reintroduced in Minnesota Legislature.
We Urge You to Contact ALL Members of the Minnesota Senate and House Environment and Natural Resources Committees (List Attached) Immediately to Request Their Opposition to H.F. 1127 and S.F. 1094
H.F. 1127 and S.F. 1094 would severely restrict 4x4 truck access to Minnesota hobbyists by prohibiting use of "trails," including those designated south of Highway 2 and those north of Highway 2 that are currently open to off-road use.
H.F. 1127 and S.F. 1094 define 4x4 trucks as 4-wheeled motor vehicles manufactured to operate on public roads and subsequently modified with special tires, suspension or other equipment.
H.F. 1127 and S.F. 1094 unfairly discriminate against aftermarket modifications that provide additional functionality and comfort, while allowing this equipment if original from the factory.
Please contact members of the Minnesota Senate and House Environment and Natural Resources Committees by e-mail to request their opposition to these bills.
