Okay, it's here!!! Time to start registering for the 2007 United Convention and Trail Rides in Grand Junction, Colorado. Go to http://www.hightrails.org/2007_ufwda_con_info.html for all the information you need and to access the on-line registration. The daily trip schedule lists the trail descriptions and difficulty factors.

If you wish to pay by check, you can link from the above URL to a pdf form or go directly to the pdf form at http://www.hightrails.org/forms/2007_ufwda_registration.pdf
Please fill out the form completely and mail with your check.

The registration form will also be in the 2nd quarter issue of United's VOICE. The registration information includes the schedule of trail rides.

Looking forward to seeing you in Grand Junction in July.

Thanks,
Gene

And last but not least: Long Slough, Mountain Biking (A great Grand Junction pastime), Old Mill (lots of old towns & building s to see), and some beautiful scenery.  Hope the pics were not too much and give you an idea of the various things to do as well as the variety of scenery.

Shawn,
What would be the plan for those who are camping? I didn't see any mention of campgrounds that at least the CO members would using. I also haven't visually put the trails on a map to know what type of mleage logistics each one of the offerings present.

Jim I can only tell you what is on the registration forms... Gene King should be able to answer your more specific questions.

Contact Gene King at (303) 425-7480 or by e-mail at ufwda2007info@hightrails.org.

Moab is about 1.5-2 hours from Grand Junction (depending on whom you talk too),  Black Bear Pass (Ouray) is about 2 hours (give or take) and Montrose is about an hour.  The rest of the trails are close (as in right out of Grand Junction or within an hour or so... Gene King should be able to provide you with more details.  He is responsible for the Convention.

Trails Descriptions can be found here: http://www.hightrails.org/forms/2007_ufwda_con_trails.html

By looking on the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce's website I found very little with regards to camping.. but I know there is camping in the area.

However doing a Google Search I found this:

I have been trying the links to register for the conference and I keep getting an error message for both of them. Is the hightrails.org site down or something?

I think I would prefer the e-mail because I have been trying on a few different days over the past month and I want to make the deadline. My e-mail is tammyllucke@verizon.net

Thank you very much!

I am not sure what problem you are having.. both http://www.hightrails.org  (click on the link on the right side of the page) and http://www.hightrails.org/2007_ufwda_con_info.html work fine... many, many registrations have been accepted there.

I will e-mail you the mail in form.

I am not sure either. The links were working fine for me and then all of a sudden I couldn't get to either one of them. I even tried just typing the website into my browser and I was still getting an error. Since I posted today the links work fine once again. I had tried on different days at different times for about a month. Oh well-works now so problem solved.

Thanks.

Trails Descriptions can be found here: http://www.hightrails.org/forms/2007_ufwda_con_trails.html

I will be in Moab on 7/23 and 24, looking to hook up with these rides that are planned.  How, when, where, etc.  Any details yet?  Just trying to lean forward here, and worried because I wont be coming to GJ until morning of the 25'th.

All the information for signing up for Trail Rides is located here: http://www.hightrails.org/2007_ufwda_con_info.html

If that doesn't answer your question then contact Gene King at (303) 425-7480 or by e-mail at ufwda2007info@hightrails.org - hope that helps.

Tried to make a hotel reservation via e-mail but the hotel never called for my cc info. So I called today and now they have no rooms available. All of the local hotels are almost double the cost or they are also booked.  Angry  Seems like the hotel should've provided more availability.
I was able to book a room at the Doubletree which I guess is fairly near the Ramada. It was one of the only places with availability.
