Public input being taken.  This is a Larimer County Project for Law Enforcement Radio Communications.

Flyer from FS: http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/arnf/projects/ea-projects/clrd/commsite/flyer.shtml

Website for the project: http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/arnf/projects/ea-projects/clrd/commsite/index.shtml

Others may speak better to the concerns however here is a quick shot:

(1) The existing 4wd roads may become 2wd or non-useable.  This is a concern from both the 4 wheelers and the Forest Service.  The current contractor wants to run above ground lines and poles.  The FS would prefer underground... above ground will disturb the current useage model more then underground.

(2) There is some concern that the tower / site would only be in service for 3 - 5 years and that at that time changes to the communications infrastructure would make it obsolete.

(3) Eyesore

Please do some research yourself and provide comments.

Are they going to install the standard comm tower, or one of the camoflaged ones.
Up on Ice House road, they have some that if you quickly look at it, it appears to be a tree.  But then upon closer examination, it is actually a cell tower.  They are painted green camo and have some fake branches up near the top.
I wish I had a picture of one.
