BOD Reinstates the Annual Web Awards! The web, the internet, the device that takes all your children's time (and probably yours too in some cases) - whatever you call it, it gets used by our friends and our enemies. A few years back Bill and Kendra instituted a "Web Design" award. The current United Four Wheel Drive Associations BOD decided it was time to implement this award again (and will be submitting the process for inclusion in the Standard Operating Procedures). This is one of those awards that does not need to be applied for. The BOD will appoint committee of at least three (3) people to review all current paid associations approximately 1 month prior to annual convention. That committee will judge the website on a functional or quantitative individual basis using but not limited to ease of use, content, content pertaining to the future of four wheeling, adherence to Tread Lightly! Principles, promotion of members/member clubs, promotion of UFWDA (counts double) and the presentation of UFWDA Materials and/or logos. The committee will use those individual evaluations to narrow the list to the top 5 (and ties) Association websites. Those top sites will be delivered to the BOD as a whole and the BOD will be asked to visit each site and rank the sites in order they feel does the best job of presentation - a qualitative approach. The committee will then compile those responses. For UFWDA 2004-2005 the top award was split with two different Associations receiving the same number of vote by both the Committee and again by the BODs. It is with pride that the BOD of UFWDA presented a certificate (with a plaque to follow) to these Associations: 2006 Indiana 4 Wheel Drive Association: www.ifwda.org 2005 Southern Four Wheel Drive Association: www.sfwda.org Colorado Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs: www.hightrails.org The BOD would also like to recognize the following Associations for making the final cut each year: 2006 Southern Four Wheel Drive Association: www.sfwda.org Virginia Four Wheel Drive Association: www.va4wda.org Colorado Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs: www.hightrails.org Southwest Four Wheel Drive Association: www.swfwda.org 2005 Southwest Four Wheel Drive Association: www.swfwda.org Virginia Four Wheel Drive Association: www.va4wda.org Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association: www.glfwda.org New Zealand Four Wheel Drive Association: nzfwda.org.nz And it should also be noted that while it's not an award, a number of BOD members noted that if there was an award for "Most Improved" it would go to 2006 Indian Four Wheel Drive Association: www.ifwda.org 2005 Virginia Four Wheel Drive Association: www.va4wda.org Websites are not easy, and they take a lot of work. Use them as a tool, treat them with respect, respect your readers, respect your topics and it will provide you with a great resource and library today and in the future.
